Whats the difference between an amplified tube subwoofer and an amplified low profile subwoofer?

I'm more inclined to get a low profile amplified subwoofer, but I'm doing my research and I'm wondering, what hits harder? A low profile 8 inch subwoofer with 1500 watts or an 8 inch tube subwoofer with 400 watts? And Why?
